Member Welfare at Emerald Warriors RFC

At the Emerald Warriors RFC, member welfare is a cornerstone of our inclusive rugby community. We are committed to ensuring the wellbeing, safety and respect of every member, both on and off the pitch.

As Ireland’s leading LGBT+ and inclusive rugby club, we believe sport should be a safe and supportive space for everyone. Our duty of care extends to all players, coaches, volunteers and Pavilion members, and we take this responsibility seriously.

The Folláine Welfare Programme ('wellbeing' in Irish) is a club-wide initiative focused on supporting the physical and mental health of our members.

Led by our Welfare Officer John Toner, and supported by our health and wellness partner Meagher’s Pharmacy, the programme is part of our long-term strategic plan to promote members' wellbeing.

Programme Highlights

  • Expert talks and information evenings

  • Post-training team check-ins and wellness sessions

  • Topics including mental health, sexual health, nutrition, first aid and more

  • Collaboration with health professionals and community partners

The programme is designed to be accessible, relevant and responsive to the needs of our diverse membership. Whether you're a new recruit or a long-time Warrior, Folláine is here to support your journey - on and off the pitch.

If you have any questions regarding this programme, feel free to contact John Toner.
